This going to be my new home in a few weeks. I am really looking forward to the end of apartment living. I have been living in apartments since 2007 and have suffered all the ills of apartment living, weird neighbors, noise from adjacent buildings, excessive rules of corporate rental management, forced into cable service I did not want and an apartment which had nocturnal visitors (the human kind) who also took my car for a joy ride.
The house is only about 1200 square feet, but plenty for me and my cat, Gracie. It was built in the 1940s, it has two bedrooms, a sunroom, a separate dining room, a living room with a fireplace,a large back yard with two pecan trees and virtually no closet space. I am very excited about the pecan trees, although I have been warned I may have to fight the squirrels for the pecans. If I win that battle I will be keeping my friends and family stocked in pecans. As I start packing my biggest concern is closet and storage space. The house only has 3 closets, very small closets at that, no attic, basement or garage. I could use the sun room or the second bedroom for storage, but I have other plans for those rooms. The second bedroom opens up to the kitchen and is fairly small. I am going to use it for an office and a scrapbooking room. The sun room I am planning to eventually turn into a sewing room, but until I come up with plans for storage, it is going serve as a storage staging area. I have a couple of ideas which I will share in the coming weeks after I put them in place. Stay tuned.
